The Church of Saint Emeric is currently retaining all church records for the Church of Saint Brigid.
All parishioners who are members of the Church of Saint Brigid and are interested in obtaining a copy of a specific record, kindly call the Parish Secretary at (212) 228-4494.
Please know all record retention requests will need proof of identification.
Hello, I am interested in obtaining marriage records for my great grandfather Alexander Hume who married Emma Ann Nelson in 1847. An article published in 1897 in the NY Tribune says they were married at St. Brigid’s by Father Starr, probably around April 30. I gather there was a St Brigid’s parish before the church was built. I am especially interested to find out who her parents were. Please let me know if you have these records available, if I can pay for copies, or if I could come to NY to look at them.
